Small Fruit Sale

Purpose of Project:  To provide public educational experience at which small fruit plants are sold, and lectures/demonstrations are given on methods of growing them.

Number of Volunteers Needed:  15+

Sale Date:  Sunday, April 23, 2006  1:30 p.m. seminars; 3 :00 p.m. Fruit Sale

Location:  Nelson Center, Lovingston

Preparation:  The fruits have been been potted and are in the courtyard at the Nelson Center.

Last Year's (2005) Poster and Fruits:   Prices and varieties may be different this year, but this is what was sold last year...

Varieties and Pricing

Blueberries @ $4.50 each: Premier (Rabbiteye), O'Neal (Southern Highbush), Duke, Bluecrop, and Nelson.

Grapes @ $5.00 each: Reliance (Red Seedless), Marquis (White Seedless), Glenora (Blue Seedless), and Concord (Blue Seeded).

Raspberries @ 2.00 each, Jewel (Black), Heritage (Red), Anne (Yellow), Prelude (Red), Caroline (Red Primocane), and Josephine (Red Primocane).

Strawberries @ $4.00 per bunch of 25: Earliglow, Allstar, Sweet Charlie, and Surecrop

Blackberries @ 3.75 each: Triple Crown and Apache

Elderberries @ $4.00 each: Johns and Nigrum

Gooseberries @ 2.50 each: Amish Red
