Project Leader: Dave Miller
Purpose of Project: To monitor and safeguard the health and scenic beauty of the Rockfish River watershed. This includes both surface and ground water and the many tributaries. Methods for attaining this purpose include public education about watershed issues and cooperating with other groups such as 4 H Club for school education and Friends of the Rockfish River to install and maintain a watershed ethic.
Skills Needed: Willingness to attend training for certification as a Save Our Streams Monitor and to take part in active stream sampling and identifying of macro-organisms. Participation in school and community education activities.
Number of Volunteers Needed: 6 - 10
Time: Ongoing with major activities in the warmer months
