Native Plants
Purpose of Project: To propagate native plants from the area. To educate the community about area native plants and supply plants.
Number of Volunteers Needed: 8 - 15
Skills Needed: Interest in growing and propagating native plants.
Project Outline: Following developed procedures, keep scientific records involved with collecting, storing and growing area native plants from seeds, cuttings and spores.
Participate in maintaining plant beds at Trillium House and Greenhouse. Help with various plant sales, and advise customers as to specific plant needs and placement recommendations.
Participate with the Rural Health Outreach Healing Garden in implementing gardens at the new medical facility in Colleen.
Master Gardeners will learn good procedures and practices for propagating and growing native plants, and gain knowledge to assist contacts regarding native plants.
Project Location: The Wintergreen Nature Foundation Trillium House and Greenhouse.
