Farmers Market

Purpose of Project: To provide information and answer horticultural questions posed by the people who stop by our booth during market hours.

If the questions cannot be answered on site then a question form is filled out and submitted to the extension office on Monday for further study. Sometimes a sample of the problem is submitted along with the question, e.g., a leaf or leaves, stem or branch, egg case, larva or adult insect to assist in the identification.

Number of Volunteers Needed: We need two to three volunteers to work each Saturday morning that the market is open, from 8:00 am to noon, May through October. (see Calendar). Prior to opening the tables, chairs, sign and reference material have to be picked up from the storage location. At closing these items are returned to the storage location.

Skills Needed: Interest in providing answers to people attending the Farmers Market who have questions regarding horticulture.
