Help Desk

Purpose of Project: The Nelson County Master Gardeners (MGs) operate the Help Desk located in the Virginia Cooperative Extension Office (VCE) in Lovingston, Virginia. The Help Desk assists the VCE Nelson County extension agent by answering residential (non-commercial) horticulture questions throughout the gardening season, March through October.

Gardening inquiries are received via telephone, fax, email (see below) walk-ins and inquiries from the Nelson County Farmers Market.

Volunteers for the Help Desk are members of the Nelson County Master Gardener Association and interns from new Master Gardener classes. Volunteers work with the Help Desk coordinator or one of the Help Desk committee members on Mondays following the Farmers Markets from 9:00 a.m to 12:00 p.m.

Skills Needed: Basic computer skills, willingness to help others and share information.
